Musical Play

Music is like magic to children and it is a wonderful art form that encompasses all areas of child development: physical, intellectual, social and emotional. These musical sculptures have developed over a period of time and bring a new dimension to many outdoor areas. Creating a musical play garden with a variety of sound sources is a solution for those wishing to find ways to encourage and motivate a child’s playful exploration, interpretation, and understanding of musical sound.

Wherever possible our instruments are tuned although weather conditions may affect pitch. However they will certainly allow children to release energy and channel it in creative, productive direction engaging the sense of sound and sparking imagination. Our ever increasing range of outdoor musical instruments includes a traditional glockenspiel, chimes, turtle drum, rainwheel and new tiger glockenspiel.

New in 2008, we are European distributors of of Freenotes, a range of outdoor musical instruments ideal for school playgrounds. Freenotes' playground equipment is designed to be played together effortlessly and previous knowledge of music, keys, scales or pitch is not necessary because there are no wrong notes! There is a wide range of playground instruments, including tall eye chimes, tubano drums with easily replaceable drum heads and the Amadinda, a xylophone inspired by a traditional pentatonic xylophone originating in Uganda.
