A wide range of high quality outdoor furniture, play equipment and cycle parking products from Hand Made Places complement the landscape at Kingsbrook View Primary Academy.
The grounds of this new school play a hugely important role in the curriculum for pupils as outdoor learning is regularly factored into the timetable.
Working for contractor Morgan Sindall under the Southern Construction Framework, an extensive package of features was designed, manufactured and installed ready for the arrival of students in September 2021.
The £9 million school is situated within the wildlife-friendly Kingsbrook housing estate in Aylesbury.
Its grounds were carefully landscaped to help the energy-efficient school building complement its surroundings.
The car park includes electric charging points and with sustainable travel high on the agenda, we provided a Wardale compound with the capacity to house 12 cycles and 40 scooters.
The compound, with mesh security panels, is complete with Senior Sheffield Cycle Rack and  4 single sided Scooter Racks.
A second standard Wardale Shelter can accommodate a further 12 cycles.
Door barriers, recycled plastic Olympic picnic units and a mild steel shed for the storage of PE equipment was also provided.
Two Trim Trails form the outdoor play area, which is in addition to a wildlife area and forest school.
The KS1 Trim Trail is made up of the Balance Weaver, Balance Beam, Wobble Bridge and V Bridge. The Swing Steps and Double Traverse Wall complete the adventure trail, encouraging little ones to enjoy outdoor activity.
The KS2 Trim Trails adds in more challenging moves. In addition to a Double Traverse Wall, Stumpy Ropes and Stepping Stones get the whole body moving along with Swing Steps, the V-Bridge, Balance Beam. The Reach climbing frame completes the area along with two bespoke stopwatch timers to encourage the children to take part in regular physical activity, improving their fitness and abilities each time.
Wet pour safety surfacing gives the Trim Trails and smart finish, while Litchard Benches provide contemporary seating in the hard landscaped area.
