Case Study: Pathfield School

Pathfield School

Pathfield School is based in Barnstaple North Devon. Its pupils aged 3 to 19 year olds have profound or severe learning difficulties as well as children on the autistic spectrum.

We were honoured that this inspiring school were impressed with our products and interested in working with us. The area we were invited to look at by school Bursar Debbie Stokes was to be used by the older children in the school. The space was really a blank canvas due to the fairly recent school extension – a large tarmac playground surrounded by grassy banks. In order to ensure inclusivity for all pupils it was clear that a bespoke approach was needed. Our design included a bespoke embankment trail comprising of lots of different ropes challenges, two large slides running down the steep bank with steps to access, a spinning dish, ‘Fireball’ ball game, quiet seating area, a thermo plastic road track and a bespoke wheelchair accessible planter.

The result was a real transformation, the children can now enjoy a wide variety of experiences in the safe, happy environment of their very own playground!
