A new playground has recently opened at Queen’s Retail Park in Stafford, Staffordshire. The client, Stainforth Construction required Hand Made Places to design and manufacture playground equipment to create an outdoor area to be enjoyed by children up to the age of 10.

A large range of trim trail playground equipment was selected to create a fun and engaging area for children to engage in active play. Trim trail equipment included a range of items to develop and build upper body strength, co-ordination, balancing and physical strength.

The Lumberjack Ladder, which is a chunky low level cluster of logs, alongside an A-Frame Climber, and Triple Traverse Wall – both of which develop upper body strength and co-ordination.

The Reach encourages imaginative play and develops coordination and balance, as does the Scissor Bridge which was also chosen to fit within the trim trail playground equipment. Trapeze rings and Swing Steps are both challenging pieces of equipment which provide a challenge to children, improving co-ordination, upper body strength and balancing skills.

Stepping stones were also included and provide a connection between the other items of trim trail equipment, whilst testing balancing skills.

The whole playground was completed with saver grass matting playground surfacing and a bespoke mulch pathway. Wave benches complete the playground and provide a rest point for parents to oversee their children as they enjoy the playground equipment.
