Rook's Nest Academy, Wakefield - Playground Equipment

Rooks Nest Academy Foundation Stage leaders were looking for an inspiring designed item of playground equipment to transform their barren outdoor play space whilst providing the necessary challenges and opportunities to develop the minds and bodies of their pupils. This included varied and imaginative surfacing, along with a physical but non prescriptive structure. There were further zones of engagement and learning provided to enhance the outdoor experience.

A rural open space was created by using artificial grass in two colours, complete with seating to encourage role play and independence. Our Mount Ridge play piece provided the physical challenge, which also allowed the children to explore and develop their own challenges and games. The Willingdon Gazebo provided a sheltered quiet area to enable the children to develop their communication skills in a safe and sheltered environment.
