Sidcot School in Winscombe, North Somerset have recently had a new early year’s playground installed for pupils.  The aim was to create an outdoor area to encourage imaginative and active outdoor play. Early years pupils were delighted with the recent installation of the playground equipment.

A range of products were chosen to provide a variety of challenges and activities to the early years pupils.

The Mini Ashbury is a low level multi play climbing frame, consisting of a range of challenges, including a scramble and trapeze rings, all of which will help pupils at Sidcot School to build their physical development and engage in active outdoor play.

Sidcot School combined the physical play aspects of the Mini Ashbury with a Micro World table, which provides imaginative play opportunities for early year’s children.

Sensory aspects were also considered, and a sleeper sand pit was installed. The sand pit provides opportunities for inclusive and sensory play, allowing pupils to develop hand eye coordination and motor skills.

The outdoor playground area was completed with rubber mulch safety surfacing.
