Hand Made Places manufactured and installed brand new playground equipment for St Stephens Church of England First School in Redditch. A selection of sports equipment was also added to an existing tarmacked area. This created a space for pupils to engage in a variety of sports. Thus promoting physical activity whilst improving their social and communication skills. Hand Made Places also installed a bespoke play unit to create a specific area for physical outdoor play.

A selection of play equipment was installed in order to promote active play during lunch breaks and play times. Goal posts, basketball hoops, and cricket stumps were added to encourage team based ball games. This equipment can be used during breaks, or even during PE lessons.  Playing team ball games gives children a great chance to engage in fun physical activity, as well as giving them chance to work as a team. Team work builds social and leadership skills, and these skills can be transferred into other aspects of their learning. As well as the playground equipment, Hand Made Places also supplied playground markings. These included many sports markings, for example a football pitch and basketball court.

Hand Made Places also installed a bespoke 4 Oaks Activity Fort, this fort includes: Scramble Nets, Wobble Bridge, Slide, and two tunnels. The various components that make up this activity fort promote physical development, and help to improve strength in bones and muscles. Other incorporated pieces such as the Wobble Bridge help to develop skills including balance and coordination, whereas tunnels promote exploration. The castle like design also aids the imagination, allowing the pupils to engage in role play.

Hand Made places also installed Steps and a Hemp Handrail. This practical piece of outdoor play equipment not only gives access to the Activity Fort, but it also improves balance and coordination skills.
