Play Sculptures and Totems

Our range of hand crafted playground sculptures and totems offer a unique and versatile addition to any outdoor learning and play environment. They are inspired by British wildlife and various cultures.

The mini beast world is brought to life as children can imagine they are flying through the sky on the wings of a butterfly, riding a giant grasshopper or trying to stay on board the dragonfly as he looks for his prey. Swans, frogs and snakes are further additions to this extended family. Of course these sculptures may take on more resourceful roles such as outdoor seating, climbing, balancing, picnic tables and curriculum aids.

There is a complete range of farm animals and vehicles that provide further opportunities for imaginative play. On a nautical theme the sea monster, octopus and shark can be used to help create play scapes of daring and adventure across the high seas and islands in search of treasure.

Our range of totem sensory posts add interest and something special to a nature or sensory garden. They are designed to be interactive – some have spy holes, finger mazes and textured sections to encourage children to learn through play.

On a practical level they may serve as markers for children to refer to or enhance learning in planting and growing areas. They can be used as story boards to encourage and develop language amongst children. Story telling games could be played and vocabularies be extended all through using the totems in an outdoor space. Understanding our world and cultures within it can also be enhanced through the totem experience.
