Outdoor Blackboards & Whiteboards

Children are inspired by visual investigation and alternative forms of communication. Our large, timber-framed blackboards and whiteboards are ideal for use as part of an outdoor classroom where lessons will immediately become more vivid and direct.

The installation of drawing stations on the playground is a great way to go in order to create a designated learning area. With the ever-increasing class sizes found in most schools, outdoor classrooms are moving from a novelty to a necessity. We think it’s best to prepare and design the best facilities for pupils, introducing a fun element to a practical solution.

These units also encourage children to be creative. When placed on a playground, blackboards and whiteboards allow pupils to combine physical play with imaginative play. They might take the opportunity to draw a treasure map, a signpost, or a villainous monster for their game. This means children will be flexing their creative muscles whilst also developing their fine motor skills.

As children apply their imagination to the world around them with whiteboards and blackboards, they will also develop their literacy and communication skills. Given the opportunity, children will begin to read and write as part of their play time, and may not even realise they’re learning! With a drawing station on hand, pupils of all abilities will be able to use words or images of their choice to demonstrate their own interpretation of a story, character, or situation.
