Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, East Sussex

Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare is a historic animal welfare centre which has been around since the 1930’s. The centre is host to many visitors who come to see the fantastic range of animals which they have helped over the years.

From cats and dogs, to exotic birds, their centre offers sanctuary to all animals. So Raystede required a range of bespoke playground equipment which reflected exactly this.

The equipment was required for an animal themed play area designed to increase the fun factor for their younger visitors.

Bespoke engravings turned our existing products into a playground which nurtures the imaginations of young children.

Phrases such as ‘burrow like a gerbil’ and ‘climb like a cat’ which are engraved on the bespoke Play Mound and Traverse Wall offer an opportunity for children to fully immerse themselves into imaginative play.

Children love play acting and where better to promote it than when they are surrounded by so much inspiration!

As well as imaginative play surrounding the animals themselves the children can also re-enact their favourite animal stories.

The V-Bridge complete with bespoke engraved archway reading ‘balance like a goat’ can be used in the re-telling of the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff.’ A great chance to use the animals they have just seen in a story!

Children will love to learn about all of the different animals which Raystede have helped. With Hand Made Places they can do this by putting themselves into their world.

From ‘hopping like a rabbit’ on the bespoke Rabbit Platforms, and bespoke Paw Springy’s, to swooping in between the bespoke animal totems, we are sure the children who visit Raystede will love playing in this brand new playground!
